If you think that Ilia in the summer is only about beaches, it's probably time to discover it... differently.
After the announcement of the program International Festival of Ancient Olympia 2026, it is also the turn of 36th Festival of Ancient Elis, proving that Ilia is evolving into one of the most important summer cultural destinations in the country.
It is no coincidence that this year the Ministry of Culture announced 95 cultural activities in archaeological sites and museums throughout Greece, with Ilia having a dynamic presence through two important institutions.
The 36th Festival of Ancient Elis
From the July 17 to August 28, 2026, the Ancient Theater of Elis is hosting the festival for the 36th year, with the particularly fitting motto:
«"The Festival of our hearts!"»
And looking at the program, we understand why.
It is not aimed only at fans of ancient drama. On the contrary, it is designed so that everyone can find a performance that suits them.
Theater, music, comedies, children's performances, free events and the special Full Moon night make up a program worth experiencing.
