📍 Where is Parras Park located?
The park extends around the Mount Lycaon, a place with a history of thousands of years, considered one of the oldest places of worship of Zeus in Europe.
Andritsaina is considered a natural gateway, as it lies exactly where the mountain routes leading to the heart of the region begin.

🌍 What is Parrhasio Park?
The Parrhasian Park is an international landscape and cultural heritage protection initiative that unites three regions of the Peloponnese:
- Ilia
- Arcadia
- Messinia
Its goal is to preserve the unique character of the area, where nature and history have coexisted for thousands of years.
Its central core is history Mount Lycaon, a place associated with ancient cults of Zeus and considered one of the oldest sacred sites in Europe.
🌿 How the idea of Parrashion Park began
When you arrive in Andritsaina, you might think you’ve simply reached a beautiful mountain village. In reality, you’ve arrived at the gateway to an entire world that many have yet to discover.
The Parrhasian Heritage Park was not created by chance. The idea was born years ago, when archaeologists and researchers from different countries came to Mount Lykaion to study its ancient sanctuaries. The more they explored the area, the more they realized they were not looking at just an archaeological site — but an entire landscape filled with history, nature, and memory.
And then a thought was born:
This landscape should not just be studied. It should be protected.
🌍 The people behind the vision
Thus was created the Parrhasian Heritage Foundation, an international non-profit foundation that supports research, protection and promotion of the region.
It’s not a distant organization that simply funds projects. It’s a community of people — scientists, students, researchers, and friends of Greece — who come here, walk the same paths, see the same peaks, and feel the same respect for this place.
Every year, researchers and students from universities around the world arrive in the area to work in the field, study findings, and help us better understand the history of this mountain

The park project is not just a local effort — it is an international collaboration. Participating are:

- ίδρυση μουσείων και εκθεσιακών χώρων
- ανάπτυξη πολιτιστικών διαδρομών
- σύνδεση αρχαιολογικών χώρων με μονοπάτια
- διαδρομή που θα ενώνει το Λύκαιο Όρος με τον Επικούριο Απόλλωνα
- προώθηση για ένταξη στην UNESCO
